You will receive a supply list (if required)
in the mail.
Remember we have 2
classrooms and if classes are not scheduled, they are
free if you want to sew, or baste,
or quilt, or have some friends come and sew.
Just give us a call, make a reservation
and come on in!
We offer a full schedule
of classes, both for quilting and doll making.

Another Beginning Quilting Class
(or Alex Anderson's Sampler Quilt) |

As you study and make
five different traditional blocks, you will learn about the basic
tools of quilt making and how to use them. You will learn to
cut, pin seams, press and how to unsew seams correctly. After
making the blocks you’ll learn how to sew borders correctly, making
a 40 ˝” quilt. You’ll learn how to sandwich the quilt, pin or
spray baste, and plan the quilting. You will have homework.
This is an excellent beginning class which you’ll love! |

Do you have quilt tops
stacking up, waiting to
be quilted? This is the class that will give you
the confidence to turn
those tops into quilts! Hands on exercises
will be used to develop
machine quilting
skills, from walking
foot, ditch quilting to
continuous line and free
motion feathers. We
will discuss preparation, workspace, threads, tension,
batting, making tools, and much more. Most of all
encouragement and xcitement, is taught giving
students permission to become a great machine quilter. |

Beginning Machine Applique

flat pieces on your quilts. Machine appliqué is an art,
and there are a variety of stitches and techniques you
can use, depending on the results you want. |

| Getting Your Quilt Ready for Quilting |

Learn how to mark your quilt top in preparation for
quilting and finishing your quilt.
Various methods will be shown and demonstrated
including using stencils, golden threads paper, quilting
design books, and marking tools.
You will need to bring a quilt top, or 6, 12” squares
with batting, to prepare for quilting. |

| Learning to Use the Quilt Frame
|

Learn to load a quilt frame for machine quilting with
our Bernina Frame. You will learn how to load the
top, the batting, and the backing. You will practice
loading a quilt and learning how to use it.
This class is a necessary pre-requisite for using our quilt
frame to quilt your quilts.
This class is free if you have purchased a new Bernina
quilt frame from us, or your fee will be refunded if you
purchase a frame within 14 days. The Bernina quilt
frame can be used with any sewing machine.
You may take this class more than once for ½ the fee,
or free if you have purchased a Grace frame from us!
Now that you have
taken this class you
can sign up for
quilting your quilt top!!!
$15.00/hour to use our frame
(min 3 hours).

| Class Registration & Policy |
- You may register over the telephone, in the store, by email, or in writing. We need your
check, or credit card (with expiration date) at the time of registration.
- Our teachers really work hard at not only preparing for classes, but also in keeping up
with what is new and planning new classes. In order to commit to them, we have the
following policies:
- If the class is under $20.00 we require your full payment at the time we write down your
name - if the class is over $20.00, we ask for one-half of the fee.
- Please be on time for class, with your sewing machine which you know how to operate.
We do not allow children or other visitors in class.
- Thanks and have a good time!
Cancellation Policy
- You must cancel
five days in advance - this means a Monday for a Saturday class - to receive your refund
or credit.
